When sea lions borrow your boat (video)

  • When sea lions borrow your boat (video)

Who doesn’t love a day on the water? It is clear that these two certainly appreciate it.

Last week Joshua Phillips was boarding a boat in Puget Sound, off the coast of Washington, when he saw something unexpected: a pair of huge sea lions accidentally doing the same thing.

Evidently, while out for a swim, the gigantic marine mammals decided to rest their fins a while, borrowing someone’s (relatively small) boat.

Josh took this video today in Eld Inlet. Nearing 5 million views…..crazy! @fishingjosh on Instagram! www.spawnflyfish.com

The boat, as you can see, was not designed to handle passengers this size.
While it’s unclear who the owner is or how long the couple stayed there, this unusual sighting puts the size of these animals into perspective.

Sea lions can weigh up to 1200 kg and reach lengths of more than three meters.
